Womens Leather Jackets

When it comes to womens leather jackets the internet is a fantastic place to shop. This year is a big year in fashion for women’s leather jackets, many of the top designers like Gucci, Prada and D&G are all featuring women’s leather jackets in their winter 2010 collections. The best part is there is so much in the world of women’s leather jackets that if you fall in love with a certain designers look but cant afford it, a little homework on the internet can go a long way in finding the same look for a lot less. I would however suggest that no matter what style or designer you pick, make sure you try something as close to it as possible in a store before you order online.

For 2010 womens leather jackets are going well beyond the traditional black and brown suede offerings colors like taupe, white and red have made strong comebacks in 2010 women’s leather jackets. Designers are taking leather and the use of fur and faux furs to an entirely new level. Leather pants are also strong in 2010 with high fashion,  high value sources like H&M offering affordable women’s leather pants in nearly every release so far this season.  Some of 2010’s best women’s leather jackets designers include:
7 for All Mankind, A.B.S., ADAM, Alexander Wang, Ali Ro, BCBGMAXAZRIA, Charlotte Ronson, Development, Diesel, Elie Tahari, Free People, French Connection, Joie, Juicy Couture, Karen Zambos Vintage Couture, La ROK, Loeffler Randall, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Nanette Lepore, Necessary Objects, Paper Denim & Cloth, Parameter, Priorities, Rebecca Taylor, Robert Rodriguez, Sunner, Susana Monaco, Tocca, Torn, Twelfth St. By Cynthia Vincent, Twenty8Twelve, Walter, Wendy Katlen, YAYA AFLALO, Yigal Azrouel, Yoana Baraschi

On the higher end Hermes has gone as far as releasing a full leather jumpsuit that is aviation inspired. This year leather goes way beyond womens leather jackets, if you name it chances are a designer has made it out of leather.

Along with women’s leather jackets and pants: leather has made its way into skirts, hats and of course as always handbags.  Price conscious women should shop boutiques and department stores first to find the style and size that fits them best and then price check online after determining what fits them best. When is comes to women’s leather jackets you want to make sure you find something that fits right the first time as tailoring is expensive and usually never comes out right when it comes to leather. If you do order a jacket online and for some reason the fit is not ideal, I recommend exchanging it immediately for a better size there is nothing more tragic than investing good money in a piece that is going to sit in your closet because it doesn’t fit. Along those same lines you may want to consider spending a little more than you planned, after all a well designed classic women’s leather jacket can give you years and even decades of great use. Leather is not the best material to cut corners on because of its longevity.  Make sure you find a good product to clean your leather garment as well, once again think of it as investment. I would caution against sending any women’s leather jackets to the drycleaners. The results of dry cleaning leather are usually not good.
